In an attempt to navigate successfully in an ever changing world students must have the educational tools to open up opportunities.

The Social Studies curriculum at Central High School is aligned with Minnesota State Standards and Mankato Area School Essential Learner Outcomes.

Global Studies 11 Essential Learner Outcomes are delivered via four quarterly courses: World Cultures I, World Cultures II, World Government, and World Geography.

The required semester of Economics is delivered via our quarter system in Economics I and Economics II.

Social Issues allows students to study human relationships, interactions and problem solving from the perspective of man as a social being.

Current Events offers students the opportunity to use history to help make sense of the present. Students study current issues at the local, state, national and world level. We learn that current events have their roots in the past and are the "breadcrumbs" of history.
